Supporting Poultry Health
Day-to-day management of your poultry flock, whether small or large, can be a struggle at times. Management strategies are key to ensuring that your flock stays bright-eyed and bushy tailed and here at Target Feeds Ltd we can help do just that. Offering a range of ingredients to suit poultry needs, we are sure to have a remedy for your concern.
Oyster Shell
Oyster shells are one of the leading sources of calcium for poultry. With laying hens using around four times as much calcium during active lay than usual calcium deficiency is paramount. The deficiency can lead to weaker birds and a decrease in egg condition and production.
Threonine
Threonine (α-amino-β-hydroxybutyric acid) is an essential amino acid and the third limiting amino acid in poultry diets. This bioactive molecule plays vital roles within the body such as aiding protein synthesis, assisting energy metabolism, and helping to support nutrient absorption.
Limestone
Limestone flour or granules are another great source of calcium for poultry. Fragments of limestone within the diet can lead to improved skeletal strength and egg development.
Seaweed
Seaweed (Ascophyllum Nodosum) is an important source of calcium, chlorine, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, and sodium along with a range of trace elements to enhance overall well-being in poultry.
Lysine
L-Lysine is an essential amino acid for monogastric animals. It cannot be synthesized by the organism and needs to be provided within the feed. Lysine is the first limiting amino acid in most cereal/ soy based diets. Therefore, supplementation of free L-Lysine is required to fully tap the animals' growth potential.
Methionine
Methionine is another essential amino acid in poultry diets. The molecule has properties of supporting muscle mass and feather development, helping to improve egg production, and involved in the development of the digestive tract and growth performance.
